The MRU Writers' Team
The "Media Reference Guide CEP and Logistics" is the work of a team of writers consisting of MRU employees, who
have brought their developed and diverse knowledge on all aspects of the international CEP market to these texts.
Founded by Horst Manner-Romberg in Hamburg in 1992, MRU is the only management consultancy in Europe which special-
ises exclusively in the market for courier, express, parcel and postal services.
The owner-operated company focuses its range of services on the following aspects:
- Project management and consultancy
- Market research and analysis and
- Studies
Major forwarders and CEP service providers from home and abroad are advised on all relevant market issues, as well as
the further development of their offers, or they are assisted over a longer period of time, for example with market access,
product design, organisation and IT concepts. For customers, the optimal service providers are determined using, amongst
other things, systematic market analyses or through anonymous invitations to tender.
MRU is partner to industry clients, regulatory authorities, ministries and confederations when it comes to compiling compre-
hensive, national and international market surveys, which are commissioned and condensed by MRU into study reports for targeted competition observation, for the search for acquisition targets or for the formulation of prognoses and scenarios regarding the development of markets and companies.
The company produces a target-specific research design, traditionally making use of all tools of survey research, for example exploratory personal interviews with experts, desk research, and mass telephone surveys of up to 2,500 interviews per
week. The company’s approximately 500 clients include operators and their contractors, as well as the consumers of the increasingly complex services. In line with the continuous globalisation of this key industry, this client base has also internationalised over the years.
In the last few years, MRU has been involved as an industry advisor and consultant in relevant acquisitions and takeovers
in the CEP industry. Since 1995, MRU has also been publishing the exclusive, bilingual industry journal “KEP Meldungen”,
or “CEP News”. In 2006, MRU initiated the “Logistics Experts Network Europe (L-Ex)”, a European network of CEP and
logistics specialists. The founding of L-Ex is the natural consequence of the globalisation of the logistics business. It unites
the partners’ high competence on their domestic markets with a powerful international service provider.
